Oswego Heritage is offering two scholarships.  One scholarship will be awarded to a student who will be attending college as a freshman.  The second scholarship will be awarded to a college graduate pursuing a higher degree.

 IRA REMINDER:

The credit union offers higher rates on IRA CD's, call or check the rate page on the web site for current rates.

Your Credit Union has both Traditional and Roth IRAs.  If you are under the age of 50, your contribution limit is $5,000 for tax year 2009.  If you are age 50 or older, your limit increases to $6,000 for tax year 2009.  Stop in the credit union office for answers to your IRA questions. 

 FDIC E-MAIL FRAUD ALERT

Although the FDIC does not cover account insurance for credit unions, members may still receive this phishing e-mail and believe it to be true.  The e-mail asks "Who is FDIC?" and "What can FDIC do for you?"  It warns against identity theft and states that the FDIC is presenting a new card insurance which can restore you up to $500.00 if you are a victim of Internet Fraud.  The e-mail directs recipients to click on a link to be redirected to "an on-line sign-up page for this program."

This email is a fraudulent attempt to obtain personal information.  Do Not access the link provided within the body of the e-mail,  This e-mail should be deleted immediately.

Preventing Fraud Tips:  

Do not give out your personal information, account, card or PIN number on the phone or e-mail.  Please contact the credit union office if you think you have been scammed.

Home Banking

 There is no fee to sign up or to use the Home Banking system.  You can get an application from either office to sign up, you will given a temporary Security Code either in person, via email or regular mail.  When you are able to sign onto the system, you will be prompted to change your security code.  It must be at least eight characters long and include at least 2 letters and 2 numbers.  Remember if you have any questions, please call the credit union.  We are here for you and we THANK YOU for choosing YOUR credit union!

Kid's Corner

Do you have a SEED Account?  If not your parents or grandparents can open one today.  SEED stands for Students Earning Excellent Dividends.  If you make a deposit into your SEED Account or open a New SEED Account, your name will go into a quarterly drawing. You are eligible to open a SEED Account as long as you have not graduated from high school or are under the age of 18.  Please contact the credit union for further information.
